I am wearing a pair of shoes.
\nThey are ugly shoes.
\nUncomfortable shoes.
\nI hate my shoes.
\nEach day I wear them, and each day I wish I had another pair.
\nSome days my shoes hurt so bad that I do not think I can
\ntake another step.
\nYet, I continue to wear them.
\nI get funny looks wearing these shoes.
\nI can tell in others eyes that they are glad they are my
\nshoes and not
\ntheirs.
\nThey never talk about my shoes.
\nTo learn how awful my shoes are might make them uncomfortable.
\nTo truly understand these shoes you must walk in them.
\nBut, once you put them on, you can never take them off.
\nI now realize that I am not the only one who wears these
\nshoes.
\nThere are many pairs in this world.
\nSome women ache daily as they try and walk in them.
\nSome have learned how to walk in them so they don\u2019t hurt
\nquite as much.
\nSome have worn the shoes so long that days will go by
\nbefore they think
\nabout how much they hurt.
\nNo woman deserves to wear these shoes.
\nYet, because of these shoes I am a stronger woman.
\nThese shoes have given me the strength to face anything.
\nThey have made me who I am.
\nI will forever walk in the shoes of a woman who has a
\nchild with cancer.<\/p>\n
